Rico Ploeg is a commercial photographer, CGI artist, digital retoucher and technical image creator based in Haarlem, The Netherlands, near Amsterdam. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Rico specialises in technically challenging visual productions for brands, agencies and creative teams worldwide.
His work combines photography, advanced studio lighting, CGI, compositing and high-end post-production to create imagery that goes beyond what traditional photography alone can achieve. Images created by Rico have been licensed thousands of times worldwide and have appeared in advertising campaigns, editorial publications, television productions, corporate communications and music releases.
Rico works from a professional photography studio in Haarlem. His studio is equipped with state-of-the-art Broncolor flash systems, including the iconic Broncolor Para 222 — widely regarded as the gold standard for portrait and beauty lighting — as well as a full range of Broncolor light shapers, reflectors and modifiers. For assignments requiring maximum image precision, Rico uses a Sinar technical camera system combined with an ultra-high-resolution digital back, enabling full control over perspective and depth of field.
Rico has created photography and digital imagery for major brands including Albert Heijn, Heineken, KLM, Nike, Volkswagen, Samsung, ING, Red Bull and many others. His work has been featured in PF Magazine, documented by 3FM Serious Request television crews, and used as artwork on music releases distributed via Spotify. Photographs from his library have been licensed internationally for over two decades through major stock agencies.
